Charlie Brophy is a Melbourne based photographer who has been producing emotive imagery over the last eight years. Her personal projects predominately encapsulate humans in their natural environments, whilst her commercial work incorporates a similar authentic aesthetic and style.
Charlie's distinctive style is predominately produced through the method of analogue film photography, creating raw and romanticized imagery of substance and depth. She believes that utilising classic techniques not only results in aesthetically unique results but also allows the creative to be more mindful and deliberate in the capture process. For her more commercial clients and for fast paced event photography, Charlie uses digital equipment and editing techniques, based on the clients requests and desired results.
Whilst Charlie completed her BA Photography at RMIT in 2012, the program was digitally emphasized, creating a platform to enhance skills of a technical variety, allowing Charlie to be versatile in her work flow, capabilities, post production skills and overall creative offerings.
Charlie has collaborated with larger leading companies in the fashion and commercial worlds, whilst also producing content for smaller local brands, projects and artists.
